Stunning picnic spots by the sea in Mallorca
Mallorca is an island that will never cease to amaze you. With a natural setting like no other, it is famous all over Europe for its crystal-clear beaches, breath-taking mountain range and charming villages, in addition to the lively capital city, Palma.
But today we wanted to give you some tips to live a Mediterranean experience like no other: having a picnic by the sea. Here’s our fav’ spots to do it.
Picnic with sea views in Mallorca
The rocks behind Hotel Bendinat
Local tip at its best. Close to Palma, in the area of Bendinat, there’ a hidden spots hiding behind the famous ‘Hotel Bendinat’. All you have to do to get there is introduce this hotel in your GPS and park as near as possible. Instead of going into the hotel, you need to walk pass it and you’ll find a rocky spot right by the sea. During summer, locals tend to sunbathe here and dive into the Med. At sunset, a picnic at this location is an absolute dream.
S’Illot, Alcudia
Another great spot to have a picnic with a view is the beach of ‘S’Illot’ in Alcudia, in the North of Mallorca. This is a beautiful little cove with the presence of an islet very close to it. The sea is generally very calm and the presence of the islet prevents waves from coming in. Due to the existence of rocky areas, some sandy clearings and plenty of vegetation, it becomes a lovely spot for a picnic.
A viewpoint to be found on the way from Deià to Valldemossa
As you already know, and we’ve mentioned in this blog post about perfect spots for a sunset, there’s a viewpoint called ‘Sa Foradada’ on the way from Deià to Valldemossa which is an absolute stunner. But there’s a local bar there, and you won’t be able to have your little picnic there. But do not worry! If you follow the road to Valldemossa a little longer, you’ll find a hidden viewpoint on your right. With the same views as ‘Sa Foradada’ it’s one of those places you will always go back to. Sunset, picnic and views for days!
Formentor Beach
Last, but not least, we absolutely love the setting that ‘Formentor beach’ offers for a Mediterranean picnic at sunset. Despite its small size, Formentor Beach is incredibly picturesque, surrounded by fragrant pines that offer ample shade from the summer sun. Its breath-taking location, with the mountains as a backdrop, and crystal-clear turquoise waters make it a highly sought-after destination. An absolute stunner for a picnic at sunset!
There are plenty more hidden coves and viewpoints to become picnic spots on the island. If you’d like to have someone pick a spot and set up the picnic for you, we can recommend you contact some of these companies, that will be pleased to set it up all for you: ‘Magic Picnic Mallorca’, ‘Cala & Campo’, ‘Picknicup’ and ‘Picnicdeal’.
