Plan for a day: Barranc de Biniaraix
We’re back! It’s time to share another ‘plan for a day’. And this time we got inspired by the lovely weather we’ve been having here in Palma to offer you a lovely outdoor plan to enjoy while staying with us at Nakar Hotel.
As you already know, our ‘plan for a day’ posts invite you to discover the island. Even though we love Palma and we’re always offering you fun content to explore our capital city, we’re also aware that Mallorca is a true Paradise with tons of corners you just need to know.
Our plan for a day for today is: The Barranc de Biniaraix & surrounding walks
Are you up for a nice hike? Well, today’s your lucky day! We’re heading all the way to Sóller to discover the Barranc de Biniaraix. Biniaraix is easily reached by car via Soller.
The main GR221 path starts in Biniaraix and is, as always, well signposted and easily followed. From Biniaraix, the climb is at first gradual, following the torrent at the bottom of the valley. Once past the torrent d’es Verger, the path leaves the stream on the right bank to come above a set of cliffs that dominates the gorge.
After that a 1h detour will be so worth the effort, for the stunning views from the Mirador de Xim Quesada. After soaking up the beautiful views, you’ll have several options to start your way back. You can either undo the path you’ve just done or you can return via the Pas de ses Lloses, which is a rather difficult path.
Even though this hike is easy along the main path, there are some trails you will be able to go on that are of medium difficulty. This hike is about 4 to 5 hours long, which makes it perfect for a nice spring day out enjoying the beauty of Majorcan nature!
