The May musts by Nakar Hotel
How has spring been treating you? At Nakar Hotel we couldn’t be happier: we’ve had a little bit of everything. Nice warm sunny days, some rain (that is actually very welcome!) and tons of fun in our favourite city: Palma.
As usual, with the beautiful month of May ahead, we are here to give everyone visiting Mallorca in May some good advice. Let’s do this. These are:
The May musts by Nakar Hotel
May is a fabulous month on the island. It’s when temperatures really start going all the way up, but it’s still not busy, which means: you’ll have a lot of Mallorca to see and explore!
So we’ll start with one thing we really enjoy and which is actually perfect to do in May: spend the day at a beach club. Can you think of something more iconic for a holiday than enjoying the day by the sea, sipping your cocktail, enjoying the views, eating some nice Mediterranean food?
That sure sounds like a plan for us. If you’re asking for an opinion, we’d definitely recommend: Balneario Illetas, Mhares Sea Club and Purobeach. All of them a great for a relaxing day just for you!
Moving on, another ‘May must’ is going to one of our favourites coves: Cala Mondragó. When we told you about our favourite beaches in Mallorca’s Southeast, we mentioned Cala Mondragó: a stunning cove inside the Mondragó Natural Park. In May you’ll have this beach just for you, with nobody around, you’ll not only soak up the authentic Mediterranean vibes, but you will also be able to sunbath, dive in and just enjoy the day by the beach.
There’s more: May is definitely the month to have paella by the sea. If you ask us, we would hit north and maybe visit Ponderosa Beach or Can Gavella for it. Both are located on the lovely Playa de Muro, an oasis of white sand and turquoise water.
But if you want to stay near Palma, you can also visit Balneario Illetas, the beach club we mentioned earlier, and they have some of the best paellas on the island!
And if you’ve been keeping up with our ‘Musts by Nakar Hotel’ you’d already know that we really like you to discover what’s new in town. So this month we have two recommendations: pastry cook Lluis Pérez just opened his second bakery & café called ‘Orient’ at C/ Sant Miguel. And we’ll just say this: you HAVE to take a look. And then there’s the newest addition to Palma’s clubbing scene: Mala the bar. Drinks, good music and good fun.
Last, but not least, we couldn’t think of a better May plan: drinks at our rooftop. That’s right.
At the end of May we open our rooftop to welcome all of you for live DJ sessions, views of the cathedral and the bay and the best cocktails in town. Stay tuned to our Facebook & Instagram to check out the kick-off-date!
So much to do! Enjoy May in Palma!
