November musts by Nakar Hotel
Can you believe we’re already in November? We cannot believe how quick this year has gone by and now we’re already facing month number eleven. As usual, we wouldn’t want you to do anything but the most of your visit to Palma. This is why we’ve got our ‘November musts’ all summed up for you.
November musts in Mallorca by Nakar Hotel
Palma de Mallorca is our favourite city in the whole world. Thanks to its tradition, history, gastronomic scene and everything that has to do with its roots we cannot get enough of this beautiful city. Our November musts certainly will give you some perspective of what our island has to offer.
Christmas lights in Palma
One of the most magical times of the year is coming! And on November, the 24th the whole city lightens up when the Christmas lights are turned on.
Children and grown ups gather at ‘Plaza de las Tortugas’, really close to Nakar to enjoy a festive atmosphere, activities and more!
Local fairs
We absolutely love to see how traditions are kept all over the island. During November you will be able to experience two different fairs dedicated to local products. Caimari hosts the ‘olive fair’ on the 20th and 21st of November. We’ve told you all about olive oil made in Mallorca in the past and this fair is the perfect opportunity for you to try the best products made out of olives.
On the other hand, Mancor de La Vall is where the mushroom fair takes place at the end of November. Even though we weren’t able to find the exact date yet, we will keep you posted as soon as we get some news. This fair celebrates the popular ‘escalata-sang’ mushroom variety with a lively ‘Nit del Foc’ featuring the traditional ‘dimonis’ and more.
Dinner at Za’atar
November is a month that always manages to surprise you. Sometimes it’s hot until the middle of November, other times the cold starts kicking in earlier. But one thing is clear: it is the perfect month to enjoy fun nights out in the city.
One of the new additions to Palma’s gastronomic scene is called ‘Za’atar’, a patio dining experience located inside traditional Hotel Born in C/ San Jaime. If you’d like to get a taste of Mediterranean cuisine with exotic influences, this is the place to do it.
Alternatilla Jazz Festival
This year the ‘Alternatilla Jazz Festival’ will have women only. You’re in for a unique concert, as the performers have never played together before. Jazz players from the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal and Spain, that is, the five countries that have been home to all the editions of this festival up to this date, will ally in a ménage à cinq.
The festival’s main goal this year is to highlight the great contribution and the growing presence of female jazz musicians to the creation and the performance of jazz music.
