What’s on this winter in Palma
We’ve said it a thousand times and we’ll say it again: Palma’s a fun place to be, even in winter! This city has so much to offer, from shopping to dining, wellness to sightseeing, and everything in between. You’ll never get bored, and you’ll never tire of the vibrancy that characterizes this metropolis by the sea.
But today, we’re not here to talk about the usual bucket list of things to do in Palma. No. We’re here to talk about events, fairs and more happening around town in the upcoming months. Why? Because they are a great way to immerse yourself in local culture, learn something new, sample some incredible foods and just have an all-round good time. So, without further ado, let’s take a deep dive into some of the events, festivals and fairs that are taking place in the winter months in Mallorca’s capital.
TaPalma: for tapas lovers
Can we just start by saying that we’ve been waiting all year for this event! You’ll soon see why. TaPalma is a tapas and cocktail fair, which is being held this month from the 23rd to the 27th of November in Palma. Organized by AgenciaCom and Restauració Caeb, TaPalma is a celebration of all-things Spanish gastronomy, with a special focus on drinks and tapas. Mallorca has always had a reputation as a haven for foodies, but TaPalma seeks to truly catapult our island to the international food stage…with success! If you’re in Palma at the moment, we highly recommend visiting a few of the participating bars and restaurants (20 to be precise). There are even some pre-planned routes which you can follow that will take you through some of the best neighborhoods in the city. Think Santa Catalina, Portitxol and many more!
It’s Xmas market time!
Christmas is around the corner and we have our Jingle Bells and Oh Christmas Trees blaring out the radio twenty-four-seven. One of the best things about the pre-Christmas period are the many markets that pop up around town. And the biggest one around is the Pueblo Español Christmas Market. Starting on the 3rd of December, this beautiful square transforms into a winter wonderland hosting an array of stalls that serve food and drink, such as mulled wine. The market is open every day from 12:00am to 11pm. A small entrance fee of 7€ is payable, and includes a glass of hot wine. Kids under the age of 6 don’t have to pay an entry fee.
Show off your iceskating skills
In keeping with the winter theme, we have another event suggestion for you: a visit to the ice rink in Port Adriano. The largest ice rink on Mallorca, it’s a guaranteed hit with kids and adults alike (who doesn’t love to zip around on the ice). You can even pay a visit to Santa Claus and King Melchor while you’re there!
Nakar Hotel: your base in Palma
Nakar Hotel, is a modern design hotel located in the heart of Palma de Mallorca on the Avenue Jaime III, one of the most vibrant and bustling streets of the city. The hotel has 57 modern rooms with the latest technology and all that is needed to ensure maximum comfort during your stay.
While we close on the 1st of December, we are open for bookings for the remainder of November. After that we’ll be back again on the 15th of February 2023 for a whole new year of Palma fun, relaxation and adventure!
Happy Holidays!
