What do in Palma on a rainy day
Our Mediterranean island stands for nice weather, impressive nature and a fun, lively capital city. But even though we are the lucky residents of an island offering 300 days of sunshine a year, we still get some rain over here too!
During the colder months there are weeks of sunny days, but there are other weeks when a mild rain surprises us. Today we decided to sum up the best things to do in Palma when it’s raining, just in case you need some inspo to spend your holiday!
What to do in Palma when it rains
As you could probably guess, there are plenty of things to do in Palma when the weather isn’t sunny. Rainy days give us the perfect opportunity to do some things you wouldn’t normally think of when in Palma. So, let’s go!
Hot chocolate & ensaimada at Ca’n Joan de s’Aigo
On the top of our list we’d like to recommend one of our favourite things ever: visit Ca’n Joan de s’Aigo. This is the oldest café in Palma and you will find it only a couple of steps away from Nakar Hotel, at C/ Baró de Santa María del Sepulcre (you can also find two more locations).
It is the ultimate Majorcan go-to café to have hot chocolate and the best ensaimadas and ‘quarts’ on the island.
Visit Es Baluard, Palma’s museum of modern art
Another fantastic thing to do in Palma when it’s raining is visiting Es Baluard, Palma’s modern art museum. With a spectacular location, offering beautiful vies over Palma’s bay; Es Baluard takes its visitors on a journey through the history of the Balearic Islands and the evolution of the city of Palma.
You can check out the art exhibitions that are currently on site by clicking here.
‘Babel’, one of the 20 best book shops in the world
We love to hear good news when it comes down highlighting everything this fantastic city has to offer. ‘The Babel Library’ was recently chosen as one of the 20 best book shops in the world by The Financial Times and visiting it is most definitely a must on the bucket list of anyone who’s in Palma for a couple of days.
With its outside tables to have a glass of wine, ‘Babel’ hosts a chic atmosphere with the backdrop of the beautiful Basilica de San Miguel de Palma. Once you venture a few steps beyond the street tables, you will run into a treasure chest of fiction framed by wooden beams and bookshelves.
Spa day & massage at Nakar Hotel’s urban spa
Last, but not least, a rainy day is the perfect excuse for you to get some ‘me time.’ Whens staying at Nakar Hotel you already know that our team will go above and beyond to pamper you at all times. And one of the things we have to take care of you is our urban spa.
